A year of memories

Hi all! I have been busy the last few days... not with homework, but playing with my Silhouette! :) (now I get to catch up on homework... bleh...)

My awesome crafting buddy finally bought herself a Silhouette; without any influence by me, of course. ;) I forget how AWESOME that machine is until I teach someone else how to use it and all of its little tricks. She got the crash-course on how to use the software, and used vinyl for the first time! I may have created a beast...
Hannah's new lappy decal, with a matching one for her Silhouette.
I had my fair share of vinyl too! First I cut out a saying to fill a frame that has sat empty on my shelf for the past few months. The frame came from the University's bookstore for a whopping 60% off. It's hard to tell by the picture, but the glass is only 2X3'' so the letters were TINY and awful. But I persevered .. it's definitely not perfect, but I love it! I used blue as a backing because the feather is blue on the tip (again, hard to see in a tiny, grainy picture...)
With graduation (and uncertainty!) coming up, this is quickly becoming my new mantra.
Next I finally put together the "year of memories" jar I have seen all over Pinterest! If you haven't seen it, the idea is to write down happenings from your life and read them all on New years eve! I love the idea of Smashbooks, but my life is too hectic right now to commit to something like that. This allows me to capture little snippets I would probably otherwise forget about. I have a bunch of pretty squares cut out from a Christmas project (that I'll someday share with you), so they worked out perfectly for this! The vinyl on the jar says "The best thing about memories is making them". I hope this jar is FULL by December 31, 2013! :)
My favorite memory so far: "Adam constantly quoting Bane from Batman".

That's all for now! I have a lovely Biology lab this quarter from 6-8pm on Tues & Thurs. Luckily I think the lab is really fun (no sarcasm, I love it!)... growing cultures/bacteria and handling real live e. Coli. It makes dinner afterwards really appetizing. ;)
